Atwood Concert Hall Information
Atwood Concert Hall is the largest venue inside Alaska Center for the Performing Arts – the state’s foremost venue for live entertainment!
Opened in 1988, the venue is named after Evangeline Atwood; a historian, activist, philanthropist, and co-founder of a number of Alaskan organizations, including the Alaska Statehood Association, the Anchorage League of Voters, the Alaska World Affairs Council, Parent-Teacher Council of Anchorage, and the Cook Inlet Historical Society, as well as co-founder of the Anchorage Times, alongside her husband Robert.
In addition to hosting world-class touring artists and shows every year, the hall also hosts a number of resident companies, ensuring dedication to the local arts scene and championing Alaska’s vibrant cultural industry! Residencies include the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra, the Anchorage Opera (Alaska’s only professional opera company), the Alaska Dance Theatre, the Alaska Junior Theater, the Anchorage Concert Association (Alaska’s largest Arts Promoter), Perseverance Theatre, and the Anchorage Concert Chorus.
